I have seen some of the most absurd and outrageous slime slinging I have ever seen on any subject whatsoever. One of the silliest, most unfounded, and absurd of them all came from outside the U.S.A. That was rather amazing since our laws have nothing to do with this guy. But the fact remains that on July 15th (next weekend) the curtain drops on thousansd of internet broadcasters. Initially, many of them will try to hang on. But when their fees rise faster than the Shuttle, they will be forced into oblivion and silence. Continued consultation with Omnisound Radio One Network and their lawyers has provided information that we may be able to continue broadcasting. Our plan is to continue. However, there are some permanent changes that have come about as a result of the Congressionally approved mafia-like takeover by Sound Exchange and their wise guy buddies. First, commercially licensed music is banned forever from the show. No matter who. No matter what. There will be no commercially licensed music on the Kevin Smith Show ever again. Secondly, we will encourage all broadcasters still in business after July 15, 2007 to do the same. We will encourage every remaining internet broadcaster to refuse to use any commercially licensed music at all. This will, of course, have a huge negative impact upon the music mafia and their artists pocket books. So be it. Just as I told you on the air and in articles, now that they have internet radio by the throat, their next target is terrestrial radio stations. That prediction has been validated as articles are now appearing in which the music mafia is saying that terrestrial radio should have to pay to play music just like the internet radio stations now must pay. It is my sincere hope that terrestrial radio stations will join my own "tea party" and throw commercially licensed music overboard as I have. To the artists and agencies that are pushing this illegal extortiion I would say that they may need to begin looking for day jobs. You have chosen to bite the hand that built you. You will now know the pain of being bludgeoned by that hand. The fact is, we do not need you. The fact is that you need not be expensive for us when you are entirely expendible. Yes, I am aware I will be getting nutcase email responses from the music mafia. So what? They are insignificant and without the wisdom God gave worms. To broadcasters who receive this e-mail I would say this. Dump ALL commercially licensed music from your shows right now. I have looked at a lot of the "independent" music sites out there and only one will provide you a "CARP-free" guarantee. It is http://garageband.com. I have begun using it and the music is fantastic. Good luck to us all as we inch toward the cliff's edge this week. _________________________________________________________________ The Garta: Creatures Seen Near Basrah, Iraq_ Posted by: Loren Coleman on July 6th, 2007 Sightings Spread Horror, Conpiracy Theories Among Locals By Zeyad Kasim, July 6, 2007 For over a month now, people in Basrah have been circulating rumors about a " strange," bear-like deadly creature that attacks people at night with its strong claws. Locals in rural areas around Basrah claim it has killed three people and injured six others, and that it usually pounces on its victims as they are sleeping outdoors during hot summer nights, when electric power outages are common. Farmers at Garmat Ali, Abu Skheer, Jisr and Shikhatta were so alarmed, they assigned guarding duties at night to prevent its attacks, the Nahrain website and Radio Sawa reported last week. Eventually, several animals were caught or killed -- up to 28, locals claimed -- and cell phone videos of them were published on Iraqi websites and forums. They closely resemble skunks, or most likely hog badgers -- omnivorous mammals that are typically found in the Arab peninsula, but more commonly in the rain- forests of Southeast Asia. Residents of Garmat Ali, north west of Basrah, hanged one of the killed badgers on the Garma bridge that connects the southern city to the main Baghdad-Basrah highway, according to Mudhar Nazar, a resident interviewed by the pan-Arab Al-Hayat daily. "It looks like a dog, but its head looks like that of a bear," said Nazar. "It has short hands and 15-cm-long claws, long hair, a penis like a man’s, and it only moves around at night." Historical records describing the tomb of Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of China's Qin dynasty, do not mention the room which is 30 metres (98 feet) deep. The unopened chamber was found at the site near the old imperial capital of Xian using remote sensing technology.
